A cable tie is a type of fastener, for holding items together, primarily electrical cables or wires. Because of their low cost and ease of use, cable ties are ubiquitous, finding use in a wide range of other applications. Stainless steel versions, either naked or coated with a rugged plastic, cater for exterior applications and hazardous environments. Integrity Fasteners cable tie manufacturer options include:
- Thomas & Betts
Locking FastenersThe self-locking element comprised of nylon is permanently bonded onto the threads of a fastener. When the fastener is engaged, it creates a wedge between the fastener and mating part compressing the nylon and creating metal to metal contact opposite the patch. This metal to metal contact results in a positive resistance to vibration and loosening. Since nylon has great memory characteristics, this locking element can be reused several times. Integrity Fasteners stocks locking fasteners from the following manufacturers:
- Nylok Fasteners
- ND Industries
- Longlok Fasteners
InsertsA threaded insert, also known as a threaded bushing, is a fastener element that is inserted into an object to add a threaded hole. They may be used to repair a stripped threaded hole, provide a durable threaded hole in a soft material, place a thread on a material too thin to accept it, mold or cast threads into a workpiece thereby eliminating a machining operation, or simplify changeover from unified to metric threads or vice versa. At Integrity, we carry inserts from the following manufacturers:
- Kato Spring
WashersA washer is a thin plate (typically disk-shaped) with a hole (typically in the middle) that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a bolt or nut. Other uses are as a spacer, spring (Belleville washer, wave washer), wear pad, preload indicating device, locking device, and to reduce vibration (rubber washer). Washers often have an outer diameter (OD) about twice their inner diameter (ID), but this can vary quite widely. Integrity Fasteners fully stocks washers from the following manufacturers:
- Superior Washer
- Moeller Manufacturing
- Anillo Industries
RivetsA rivet is a permanent mechanical fastener. This type of fastener is relatively low-cost, is permanently installed, and is lighter weight than bolts. As a result, they are the most widely used fasteners in the aircraft manufacturing industry. They are faster to install than bolts and nuts since they adapt well to automatic, high-speed installation tools. Integrity fasteners stocks rivets from the following manufacturers:
- Cherry Rivet
- National Rivet
Spring PinsA spring pin (also called tension pin or roll pin) is a mechanical fastener that secures the position of two or more parts of a machine relative to each other. Spring pins have a body diameter which is larger than the hole diameter, and a chamfer on either one or both ends to facilitate starting the pin into the hole. The spring action of the pin allows it to compress as it assumes the diameter of the hole. At Integrity Fasteners we stock spring pins from the following manufacturers:
- Hindley Manufacturing
- Spirol International
- Western Wire
- Dowel Pins & Shafts
